REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education

JOB GOAL: The Milford School District School Psychologist has an inclusive philosophy and collaborates with students, staff, and families in a strength-based approach to educational programming.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Implement the procedures of the Milford School District Handbook of Special Education Services.
  2. Work as a member of the district team in identifying special needs students including reviewing RTI data for initial and re-evaluations.
  3. Participate and facilitate the following meetings:
  4. RTI support team/ Data Day Reviews
  5. Evaluation Result meetings to interpret results of evaluations
  6. IEP meetings to review progress and to create goals
  7. Manifestation determination meetings
  8. Functional Behavior Assessment/Behavior improvement plan creation
  9. Will participate in the development of an evaluation plan for initial and re-evaluation referrals.
  10. Write a diagnostic summary on every child evaluated.
  11. Meet with building personnel, when appropriate, to provide consultation services on an informal basis.
  12. Initiate consultant referrals through the Supervisor of Special Education.
  13. Assist in designing and presenting in-service workshops as requested by the Supervisor of Special Education/building administrators.
  14. Exhibit the discretion when discussing, evaluating, and/or interpreting information that is directly related to the placement of a student.
  15. Submit a year-end summary report to the Supervisor of Special Education at the completion of the school year.
  16. Perform other necessary duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
  17. Provide social skills and counseling services according to the student IEP's.
  18. Complete all DPAS II requirements.
  19. Provide crisis intervention services including suicide and threat assessments.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The School Psychologist will follow the current salary schedule in the Professional Agreement Extended contract time and/or release time to perform his or her responsibilities shall be payable at the employee's regular daily rate. This is a 10-month position.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of professional staff personnel.
