BASIC FUNCTIONS: Within established procedural guidelines, performs routine clerical duties in any or all of the following areas requiring routine clerical tasks, light typing, receptionist duties, recordkeeping, mail delivery and messenger service, filing, and office machine operation. Clerk-level personnel have limited responsibility requiring independent judgment.

  1. Types basic correspondence, labels, bulletins, rosters, etc.
  2. Sorts and distributes mail, bills and messages.
  3. Performs receptionist duties (answers primary phone line, greets visitors, etc.)
  4. Keeps records and assists in compiling information for reports.
  5. Receives money and records transactions.
  6. Review daily school deposits for accuracy in online department Point of Sale System.
  7. Files office correspondence, records, reports.
  8. Assists in distribution of office supplies.
  9. Operates basic office machines.
  10. Exercises good judgment in arranging own assignments to meet established schedules/deadlines.
  11. Files and maintains staff records.
  12. Finalize staff letters for distribution. (Return to work; assignment; award, etc.)
  13. Responsible for compiling registration for staff events.
  14. Responsible for tracking inventory for school nutrition point of sale equipment.
  15. Organize paperwork and scheduling necessary for new hires.
  16. Other clerk-level duties as assigned.

  1. High school graduate or GED certification.
  2. Ability to type with accuracy a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  3. Aptitude for computer operations. (Spreadsheets a must)
  4. Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  5. Ability to follow directions.
  6. Familiarity with filing procedures and office machines.
  7. Demonstrated good attendance record (school or employment).
  8. Bilingual (Spanish and English) candidates encouraged to apply.
