"The Dean is responsible for all building-level leadership and management of students' academic achievement and personal development, including processes and procedures as it relates to student behavior and culture. The Dean will equally attend to the staff's professional development and school culture to create an environment conducive to teaching, learning, and fulfillment. Additionally, the Dean will serve in an administrative role and will be responsible for completing teacher evaluations following state of Delaware guidelines (DPAS II)."
Master's degree (Educational Leadership, preferred)
At least three years of teaching experience
Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Establish rules, routines and procedures that will support an excellent school and student culture
-Implement behavior tracking systems
-Develop curricular and instructional strategies aligned with best practices to accelerate student achievement
-Enforce the school code of conduct, discipline, uniform and attendance policies
-Schedule and attend all student, parent and teacher meetings as it relates to student behavior
-Work collaboratively with school counselors as it relates to student behavior
-Recognize exemplary student behavior and leadership
-Facilitate restorative practice and responsive classrooms techniques, as well as non-violent conflict resolution
-Serve as building administrator in the absence of the building Assistant Headmaster
-Serve as school representative in after school activities and functions
-Observe staff on consistent basis to provide meaningful feedback designed to support and improve performance and outcomes
-Conduct DPAS II teacher evaluations following all state of Delaware guidelines
- All duties as deemed appropriate by the school Headmaster
-The Dean is a 12 month position
