  1. Bachelor's or Master degree
  2. Current state of Delaware license
  3. Must hold or be eligible for state of Delaware certification as an Assistant Principal
  4. Minimum of three years of full-time successful experience in a special program either as a specialist or teacher
  5. Training in DPAS II system
  6. Knowledge/experience with special education law
  7. Knowledge/experience with autism
  8. Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis
  9. Knowledge of curriculum/instruction in assistive technology

REPORTS TO: Principal


The Assistant Principal will assist the Principal in:
  1. Provide clinical oversight and support to the program.
  2. Supervising satellite programs. Duties at split locations.
  3. Evaluating the performance of assigned professional staff
  4. Providing leadership in curricular areas
  5. Implementing data processing services within the building
  6. Maintaining student discipline
  7. Providing support to clinical and fiscal administration of the program
  8. Supervising and monitoring student attendance
  9. Promoting positive school-community relations
  10. Administering the total school program in the absence of the principal and assistant principal
  11. Assisting with transportation
  12. Being involved in individual student program planning
