Position: School Secretary

Location: Milford High School - Guidance Office

Reports To: Principal

Starting Date: Mutually Agreeable

Qualifications:
  • High School graduate.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications and office machines.
  • Proficient in the use of eSchool software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.


Job:
  • To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.


Performance Responsibilities:
  • Performs usual office routines, including the typing and distribution of all correspondence, records, reports, memos.
  • Maintains student records as required by state regulation.
  • Schedules appointments and supports school counselors as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality in regard to all student records and interactions.
  • Places and receives telephone calls, records messages, and return calls when requested.
  • Communicates in a positive manner with all staff, parents, vendors, visitors and community members through phone calls, emails and personal contact.
  • Serves as the front line responder in the guidance office and assists with requests as needed.
  • Works as part of a high school secretarial team and assists other office personnel and covers offices and phones as needed.
  • Establishes a positive and welcoming environment in the guidance office.
  • Completes all tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participates in school activities and serves as a valuable team member.
  • Communicates professionally and regularly with all members of the school community.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the school administration.

Terms of Employment: Twelve-month year. Salary per the Milford School Board policy.

Salary and Benefits: Salary range and benefits are commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with Board of Education Policy.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
