2018-19 Spanish Immersion Kindergarten Teacher (temporary for school year)

The Spanish immersion kindergarten teacher will teach two half-day sessions of Math, Science, Social Studies, and Literacy in Spanish. He/she will team with an English partner teacher, who will primarily be responsible for teaching Language Arts in English. The two classes of children will consist primarily of English-speaking children learning Spanish. The Spanish immersion teacher will be expected to collaborate with the English partner teacher and both will have the opportunity to attend trainings on district and state levels.

  • Current Delaware Teaching Licenses - Elementary (K-6) and World Language (K-12)
  • ACTFL Oral proficiency of "Advanced Mid" in Spanish
  • Proficient English speaker
  • Previous teaching experience preferred
  • Must be prepared to:
  • Collaborate with English partner teacher
  • Adapt lesson plans for second language learners
  • Accommodate visitors to the classroom
  • Meet with parents from both classes for Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences and workshops
  • Assume other duties as assignedInterested individuals must submit a completed electronic application, resume, letters of recommendation, student teaching evaluations (if less than three years teaching experience), transcripts, teaching certificates, and ACTFL Spanish proficiency results

  • Tuberculin test & physical.
  • Mandatory Direct Deposit of paycheck.
