Kindergarten Spanish Immersion Teacher for World Language Immersion Program

Starting 2017-2018 School Year 

The Spanish immersion teacher will teach two half-day sessions of Math, Science, Social Studies, and Literacy in Spanish. He/she will team with an English partner teacher, who will primarily be responsible for teaching Language Arts in English. The two classes of children will consist primarily of English-speaking children learning Spanish. The Spanish immersion teacher will be expected to collaborate with the English partner teacher and both will have the opportunity to attend trainings on district and state levels.


  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree

  • Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware initial or continuing license

  • Must hold certification in Elementary (K-6) and World Language-Spanish (K-12) or Bilingual Teacher (K-12)

  • ACTFL Oral proficiency of "Advanced Mid" in Spanish

  • Proficient English speaker 

  • Must have completed online application prior to closing date

  • Previous teaching experience preferred



  • Collaborate with English partner teacher

  • Adapt lesson plans for second language learners

  • Accommodate visitors to the classroom

  • Meet with parents from both classes for Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences and workshops

  • Assume other duties as assigned
