School Bus Aide
LOCATION- To be determined
-Must be 18 years of age or older
-Holds high school diploma or equivalency (must provide official transcript)
-Meet state requirements and Christina School District Transportation Department standards
-Must report to work on time every work day, except as afforded by existing law.
-Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per work day.
-Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance).
-Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.
Employment is conditional upon receipt of an acceptable criminal background report, a negative pre-employment drug screening and a child abuse registry check showing you are not on the registry at any level.

Additional Job Information:
-Assist in loading and unloading of students, including lift operation.
-Ensure that students and equipment are properly strapped in seats.
-Adjust, fasten, and release restraint devices for students and equipment, as required.
-Monitor overall safety of students and equipment.
-Ensure that all students remain seated at all times.
-Assist driver during unusual traffic conditions; act as a lookout if necessary when bus must be backed.
-Assist driver in the enforcement of all state and school district bus safety regulations.
-Perform record keeping tasks related to student attendance and bus assignment.
-Monitor and report student misbehavior according to established procedure.
-Assist driver in keeping the interior of bus clean.
-Assist students with disabilities with personal needs associated with their disabilities.
-Assist in bus evacuation drills.
-Work cooperatively with all school personnel and parents, guardians and Relative Caregivers.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the district by supervisor.
