POSITION: ESL Teacher (temp for school year)

LOCATION: East Dover Elementary

REPORTS TO: Principal/Supervisor of Instruction


Obtain necessary WIDA test certifications
Administer WIDA W-APT and MODEL placement tests to determine student ESL eligibility
Administer annual ACCESS test to ESL students to determine growth in English Language proficiency
Plan and provide small group instruction to K-4 students in order to maximize their English proficiency
Communicate with and provide instructional strategies to regular classroom teachers enabling them to increase the learning of ESL students in the regular classroom
Determine appropriate ESL accommodations for students
Assist with the administration of the Delaware Comprehensive Assessment System to ESL students
Communicate ESL student progress to parents via parent conferences, IEP meetings, phone calls, etc.
Work with district ESL team and school staffs to accomplish District ESL mission and goals
Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
Other duties as directed by immediate supervisor

Meets certification requirements of the State of Delaware for ESL
Experience working with bilingual students

Standard Requirements:

Favorable Criminal Background Check for the candidate who is offered employment.
Tuberculin test & physical.
Mandatory Direct Deposit of paycheck.
