Job Goal: Serve in community based settings such as private preschools, daycares, homes and/or Head Start settings to provide support to students with special needs in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act to provide those services in the least restrictive environment

Job Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education.

2. Possess or be eligible for educator licensure and/or certification in Delaware for Early Childhood Special

Education Teacher.

3. Exceptional management, organization, planning skills.

4. Outstanding ability to motivate and build relationships within the community based program.

5. Commendable history of effective leadership, extra-curricular participation, an acceptable attendance

record, and exemplary performance.

Essential Functions:

1. Schedule visits to community based settings for services to Prek children

2. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEP'S).

3. Collaborate with directors and teachers in the community based preschool settings to support student learning and growth.

4. Provide technical support and trainings to the staff in the community based preschool setting.

5. Perform developmental assessments in a team setting.

6. Attend Statewide Itinerant teacher meetings.

7. Observe students in community based preschool settings as part of the Childfind screening process.

8. Comply with policies, regulations and procedures of school district and building; communicate effectively with parents and work collaboratively with staff.

9. Display high level professional conduct and image at all times; establish and maintain an acceptable attendance record; and participate in extra-curricular activities and/or leadership roles.

10. Continue to grow as a professional educator with classes/workshops for professional development in specific areas of interest and/or need and coaching and feedback from administrators and peers.

11. Perform other duties and/or complete special projects as assigned.
