LOCATION: English Learne Office

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Within established procedural guidelines, performs routine clerical duties in any or all of the following areas requiring routine clerical tasks, light typing, receptionist duties, recordkeeping, mail delivery and messenger service, filing, and office machine operation. Clerk-level personnel have limited responsibility requiring independent judgment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Type basic correspondence, labels, bulletins, rosters, etc.
  2. Sort and distribute mail and messages
  3. Perform receptionist duties (operate telephone, greet visitors)
  4. Keep records and assist in compiling information for reports
  5. Review Home Language Surveys and school records
  6. Collaborate with Testing Specialist regarding incoming registrations and testing
  7. Maintain accurate data spreadsheets
  8. Communicate with schools, parents, staff effectively
  9. File office correspondence, records, reports
  10. Assist in distribution of office supplies
  11. Operate basic office machines
  12. Exercise good judgment in arranging own assignments to meet established schedules/deadlines
  13. Other clerk-level duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High school graduate or GED certification
  2. Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently
  3. Ability to type with accuracy a minimum of 40 words per minute
  4. Aptitude for computer programs and systems
  5. Ability to work cooperatively with others
  6. Ability to follow directions
  7. Familiarity with filing procedures and office equipment
  8. Demonstrated good attendance record (school or employment)
